Keith Lai is a player development specialist and coach whose resume speaks for itself. 

Lai last served as the head assistant for national powerhouse Prolific Prep of Napa under Mark Phelps. Lai helped lead Prolific Prep to the 7th seed at the Geico National Championship where they would eventually lose to national runner up Sunrise Christian. At Prolific Prep, Lai coached several nationally ranked players such as Oregon commit Nathan Bittle (#11 2021), Stanford commit Isa Silva (#55 2021), Adem Bona (#13 2022), Louisville commit Kamari Lands (#22 2022), Oklahoma commit Milos Uzan (#53 2022) and LSU Yohan Traore (#36 2022).

Prior to Prolific Prep, Lai worked at Dominican University of California, located in San Rafael as an assistant for the 2019-2020 season where he was named one of the “Top 50 Most Impactful D2 Assistant” by Silver Waves Media. Lai worked exclusively with the post players.

Before his time in the collegiate ranks, Lai served as the head coach of Bentley Upper School from 2015-19. He also spent time as the head coach at Valley Christian High School (2012-15) and of West Coast Elite (2018-19). Lai committed to play collegiate basketball for New Hope Christian College in Eugene, Oregon. He is currently finishing his bachelor's degree in Sports and Performance Psychology at California Baptist University. 

A native of San Ramon, Lai led Bentley Upper School to the NCS D5 Runner up and was a Northern California Regional Semi-Finalist in 2017 and the BCL-East Regular and Tournament Championships in 2016. At Bentley, he coached the school first and only McDonald’s All American Nominee and has sent players to the University of Houston, Prairie View A&M and UC Santa Barbara.

In 2018, Lai was selected to coach at the Under Armor Stephen Curry Select Camp where he worked with top high school and then NBA Draft prospects such as Anthony Edwards (#1 pick), James Wiseman(#2 pick), Cole Anthony(#15 pick) and Nico Mannion(#48 pick), Jalen Green (#1 pick)

Aside from coaching Lai has worked alongside NBA Trainer Brandon Payne and assisted in off-season and pre-draft workouts.  As a part of the team he assists players such as Stephen Curry, Damion Lee and Dennis Smith Jr. with their off season workouts. He has also worked in preparing players for the draft such as Frank Jackson (Duke), Hamidou Diallo(Kentucky), Trae Young(Oklahoma) and Joel Berry II(University of North Carolina).

Lai has also coached in the AAU circuit with powerhouses such as the Oakland Soldiers and West Coast Elite. He is currently the Director and Head Coach for Team GRRR, where he has sent players to Cornell, Saint Mary’s College of Moraga, University of San Diego, UC Riverside, Cal Baptist, University of Nevada Reno and others.
